Northern Colorado is quickly becoming a leader in plug-in electric vehicle adoption – 2013 we were 42% above the national average! Come see why more and more people are making the change from an internal combustion engine to an EV. Try the next generation of transportation, learn how plugging in can save money, reduce oil dependency, reduce pollution, and give a superior driving experience.

Now there is a whole week dedicated to Electric Cars with more than 100 events happening around the nation! Join DENC as we celebrate the week with events at Colorado State University with the Vehicle Innovation team, and the Sustainable Living Fair.

DENC and the Colorado State Vehicle Innovation Team will be hosting a ‘ride and drive’ on campus in celebration of National Drive Electric Week. Visit our booth located on the plaza outside of the Lory Student Center and test drive an Electric Car!

September 20-21st at Legacy Park
The Sustainable Living Fair offers a weekend of solution-based, interactive, family-oriented events designed to educate people of all-ages and background about: renewable energy, alternative transportation, sustainable and local agriculture, green building, natural health, environmental and social responsibility, local economies and more. To get to the fair, park or bike to the official fair parking lot on Buckingham Street located behind Odell Brewing Company and drive or ride in an Electric Car over to the fair! There is LIMITED ON-SITE PARKING at the Fair Grounds, only Handicap Parking and BIKES may access the venue from Woodlawn Drive.

Curious about whether an Electric Vehicle is right for you? We will discuss why electric vehicles are not only a “friend to your wallet, but also a clean and safe alternative to gas-powered vehicles. Learn about purchasing prices, federal and state tax rebates, and low operating and maintenance cost of Electric Cars. Also learn about why Northern Colorado is one of the best places to drive electric!
Sunday September 21, 2014 3-5 pm
Gain the knowledge to consider performing your own electronic vehicle conversion in this two part hands-on workshop. Starting with a classroom session, attendees will learn basic principles of EV conversions, EV component selection, cost and safety considerations and online resources. Then, we will do an in-depth hands-on review of a 1969 VW Beetle that has been converted to electric power from 4-5 pm.
